SuparnaPailan has been leading an early education center at Godkhali area of Sundarban and making impact in the cluster. She is among the few rural women leaders who have shown great determination and courage to come out of marginal families and demonstrated leadership in early education, nutrition and menstrual health issues in their communities. Our emphasis has always been grooming leaders out of ordinary women, so that leadership comes from within communities rather than given from outside.
Kamala Kundu from Murshidabad, has been doing phenomenal work among Adivasi kids in the district. She has been instrumental in adopting improved pedagogy for all the centres in Murshidabad. Since most kids are first generation learners, it’s been difficult but she has shown great leadership in bringing necessary change in those communities, be it in nutrition, personal hygiene or basic literacy. Her work has been greatly appreciated by local school teachers there.
MadhumitaDoluifrom Satjelia, Sundarban, wears many hats with diverse skill sets and a great champion of effective early education pedagogy, been trained at Nanritam. She has been driving nutrition initiatives and has been a force behind bringing many kids out of acute malnutrition in Gosaba block. She is also acting as a catalyst in bringing menstrual health related awareness in Sundarban, Purulia and Murshidabad districts.
Krishna, a young woman, who has passion for social work and bringing positive change in nearby communities around Shibganj, Basanti area has been instrumental in bringing quality into our pedagogies across all centres. She is also taking great interest in natural farming and hope to contribute in that space as well. We wish her good luck for the future.
